Tom was a good boy, he always helped at home, he was very sensitive and creative. But he was a shy boy, he often couldn’t force himself to meet his friends because he was afraid he wouldn’t be able to talk or laugh as his friends did. So he preferred to sit at home, read his fantasy books and draw the characters in his blue notebook…. He spent time with his dog, went to the forest and explored. He could see deers and squirrels and plenty of birds sitting in the sun and singing .. He felt very well surrounded by the nature with his dog by his side. But the other boys and girls found him weird (odd). He didn’t spend time with them, didn’t chat, didn’t want to gossip and make jokes about the others. He didn’t even play any games on his phone and online as the other boys did. So nobody liked him, because they were afraid. Nobody invited him for the parties and nobody went with him to eat pizza. Tom didn’t care but sometimes he felt he would like to have a friend, one friend. Somebody he could talk to and go to the forest, run in the fields and watch animals. He remembered when he was a little one, his father took him to the forest and they could talk and spent time playing for hours. Now his dad had to go to London, to earn for their living , so Tom stayed with his mum and dog Oli at home. Sometimes he felt very lonely.

He was a teenage boy, so spending time with his mum was no longer such a huge pleasure, they had different worlds. He loved his mum a lot but he just missed somebody his age, somebody who could understand his problems.

It was very cloudy that day. It was raining all day long, not only that day but for couple of days. He couldn’t go outside , he would be soaked. So he stayed at home reading his favorite fantasy novel. It was late afternoon so it was dark outside, nothing moved, no one went for a walk. Downstairs his mum was preparing supper. His dog was lying on the sofa, next to his pillow, moving a little bit closer and closer on the pillow. Finally he took it over and Tom found out that he didn’t have even a small part of it. He kissed his dog on his nose and kept reading. Suddenly Oli woke up and started barking. He looked at something that was completely invisible for Tom. Then he started to wag his tail and squeak as if he saw someone known for years. Tom stopped reading and tried to distract Oli by kissing his nose and stroking his head. But Oli didn’t react, he kept barking and looking at something. Nothing like that happened before. Tom looked again in the same direction, first again he didn’t see anything but after a couple of minutes he noticed that something, like a mist was moving in the air. It was hard to say if it was a ghost, no definitely not, he decided. He was a little bit scared but curiosity was much bigger. He kept looking and the more he looked the more he found out that something strange was happening in his room. The energy he saw was taking forms, someone or something was trying to appear or come in . Tom came closer and touched it. It was very warm. He put his hand in it, and it disappeared in the mist, just as if it didn’t exist. He was shocked and didn’t know what to do. Oli was still barking. He sat down on his sofa again and tried to calm himself, whatever it was he had to think and decide what to do about it.

Nothing changed after a couple of minutes, the mist was still there. Tom was puzzled, he wanted to call his mum but she certainly wouldn’t know what to do and would be even more scared. He didn’t have anybody he could ask and even if, nobody would believe. He came closer to the mist again, put his right hand in it, he did the same with the left. Both of them disappeared. The curiosity was so huge that he didn’t hesitate long, he just jumped in.
